I've been running my product business, The Little Black & White Book Project for 7 years now. Over that time I've had to figure out a lot of what I didn't know myself, researching, asking my peers, trying to work out where to look for answers that I didn't even know I needed. It's been a lot of learning by trial with a healthy dose of failure along the way.

One thing I see a lot of in my business groups and Whatsapp chats is the same questions coming up. How do you trademark something, do I need to pay someone, what's the best ecomm platform, should I be a Limited company...what even is a Limited company, and so on.

Yes you can google all of that but you'll get a pages of results to trawl through, most of which are not impartial, their job is to sell to you. It's also a lot of reading and trying to sift through technical terms, and I don't know about you but as a creative person my brain doesn't really work like that. I am a visual learner who thrives by doing, not reading.

With all of this in mind, I thought back to my early days when I was struggling to find what I needed. Shelling out for an expensive business coach just wasn't a possibility and anyway, what would I even ask them? I had no clue. What I needed was a mentor who could give me a list of things I needed to find out about and where to look for that information. 

A cheat sheet, or a set of cheat sheets that walked me through those basic foundational steps of setting up a product business from scratch. Not having the product idea, I had that, but what do with that idea in order to formulate a business around it from the ground up.

So here I am. The mentor you need from the get-go, but not as an expensive coach you need to carve out time to speak to. I've created a set of guides you can download that set out all you need to know in an easy to digest visual format. It's the 101 of the first steps to take to build your product business, all down on paper for you to utilise in your own time and at your own pace.
